ICYMI XXXI Bárány Society Meeting

Abstracts to be published in JVR soon

The Bárány Society conference took place in Madrid in May. A number of our authors and board members were in attendance to enjoy the Spanish hospitality and excellent program, which focused on breakthroughs and advances in vestibular medicine, and the audience included the community of clinical vestibular science and basic vestibular science investigators from across the globe who were able to share knowledge and network.

Among the highlights, as shared via our Twitter feed, was the announcement that JVR's Associate Editor Susan Whitney, PhD (University of Pittsburgh) was awarded this year's Hallpike-Nylen prize for clinical research from the Bárány Society, along with the presentation about the proposed curriculum in vestibular medicine (VestMed) – which was the Editor-in-Chief's selected featured article in JVR 32:2.

Watch out for the abstracts of the meeting, coming soon! These will be available open access and we will share the link for downloading soon.

Access all previous conference abstracts via the new JVR website here!

Vestibular Disorders Association: News

Balance Awareness Week | Sep 18–24, 2022

The Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) pioneered Balance Awareness Week (BAW) in 1997 to shine a light on invisible balance disorders. When everyone is more aware, we can better understand the vestibular patient experience and be empathetic to those who need our support – family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. While many balance disorders are incurable, faster and more accurate diagnosis, along with effective coping strategies, can greatly improve quality of life for those who suffer with these invisible chronic illnesses.

Join VeDA this September 18–24, 2022 for Balance Awareness Week, and together we can support people struggling with dizziness, vertigo and imbalance on their journey toward a life rebalanced.

Get further information via VeDA’s website.
