Please feel free forward to your colleagues and share the news of our journal | Photobiomodulation of the Brain: Shining Light on Alzheimer's and Other Neuropathological Diseases Guest Editors: Michael R. Hamblin and Farzad Salehpouru | Introduction Extract: "Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy refers to the non-thermal use of visible to near-infrared light to stimulate many biological processes. Brain PBM therapy is a promising modality by which light emitted by lasers or light emitting diodes is delivered to the scalp to stimulate neural cells and brain function. It is well known that photons in this wavelength range are able to penetrate the scalp/skull and partially reach the brain tissue. There is growing preclinical evidence to support the hypothesis that brain PBM therapy could ameliorate neuronal oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and apoptosis, and could also stimulate neurogenesis and synaptogenesis. The aim of this mini-forum is to present the current state of the art in the application of photobiomodulation therapy for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other brain conditions." | Indexed in: PubMed/MEDLINE Web of Science Scopus | Volume 83, Issue 4 / 2021 Online INTRODUCTION Photobiomodulation of the Brain: Shining Light on Alzheimer’s and Other Neuropathological Diseases – Openly Available Hamblin, Michael R. | Salehpour, Farzad REVIEW ARTICLE Exploring the Use of Intracranial and Extracranial (Remote) Photobiomodulation Devices in Parkinson’s Disease: A Comparison of Direct and Indirect Systemic Stimulations Johnstone, Daniel M. | Hamilton, Catherine | Gordon, Luke C. | Moro, Cecile | Torres, Napoleon | Nicklason, Frank | Stone, Jonathan | Benabid, Alim-Louis | Mitrofanis, John RESEARCH ARTICLES Photobiomodulation Therapy Attenuates Anxious-Depressive-Like Behavior in the TgF344 Rat Model Yang, Luodan | Wu, Chongyun | Tucker, Lorelei | Dong, Yan | Li, Yong | Xu, Peisheng | Zhang, Quanguang Photobiomodulation Therapy for Dementia: A Systematic Review of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Studies Salehpour, Farzad | Khademi, Mahsa | Hamblin, Michael R.
