New EPL Editor-in-Chief: Bharat H. Desai, PhD
We are very pleased to announce that the journal now has a new Editor-in-Chief – Bharat H. Desai, PhD – who is only the second person to hold this title; the first being the late Wolfgang E. Burhenne. Of his new appointment, Dr. Desai states in his first editorial: “The entrustment of the EPL editorship has led me to follow in the footsteps of Wolfgang’s legendary energy, skills, and encyclopedic knowledge. Editorship of a journal takes place on the shoulders of the previous contributors. Hence, it is humbling to don this new mantle."
We stand in a unique position as we approach the closing of Volume 50 and look to the future. We are on the brink of a new horizon that will take us on a forward-looking environmental journey. Much work has been going on behind the scenes with some recent transformations. As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Desai's first task has been to curate the content for Our Earth Matters, which includes an extended special issue and book with 21 contributions from expert scholars and decision-makers, which reexamine the current global approaches, as well as explore the future trajectory for international environmental governance in the 21st century and beyond. There will also be an important webinar on June 5, 2021, World Environment Day, with a number of the authors participating. You can join too: Register Now!
